The Provincial Integration Support Program team (www.pisp.ca) will be in our district for the week of April 15, 2013 to April 19, 2013. Since April 15th is a pro-d day, the team has offered to provide a half day workshop with the following schedule:
- 1:00 – 2:30 Sleuthing Your Student’s Comprehension by Sue Batstone, SLP
Determining the comprehension skills for students who have multiple disabilities can be challenging. This workshop will explore different ways for helping to get a clearer understanding of what these students may comprehend.
- 2:30 – 2:45 Break (Coffee, Tea, & Snacks provided)
- 2:45 – 3:30 A Walk On The Wild Side (overview of the PISP website) by Terry Wendorf, Program Coordinator
This inservice will walk participants through some “wild” resources on the PISP website as well as share some other very useful website links for students with severe multiple disabilities (Bring your laptops or tablets if you want to follow along).
The mandate of PISP is to assist schools throughout British Columbia in meeting the educational needs of students with multiple severe/profound physical and cognitive disabilities. If you would like to attend, please fill out the following form BY APRIL 1st: http://t.sd73.bc.ca/39
